One of a kind oak framed original cyanotype print on handmade paper. Eccleston was inspired by the local Lancashire landscapes and created from pressed hand gathered plants which I captured using a camera-less photographic technique.
 
I paint the light-sensitive cyanotype chemicals onto the paper with a hake brush in my studio darkroom and deliberately leave brush marks on the paper to show this part of the process. I bathe my prints in sunlight as I prefer a natural, sustainable process that marks the time, the place and the materials of making. This reduces the number of prints I can make each year but it is a much more satisfying process as I am working with the seasons and responding to the very changeable Lancashire weather.
 
Each artwork is unique and bespoke framed. This particular artwork is framed in maple wood, float mounted and framed within a second mount to accent the deckled edge of the handmade paper.
